These terms cover your use of the Santee Smog Check website and the booking it provides. By booking an appointment or using this site, you agree to them. We've kept them plain.

Booking an appointment

Walk-ins are welcome — booking online simply holds your spot so you skip the line. It sends us an appointment request, confirmed once our team approves it (you'll get a confirmation if you provided an email).
Please arrive at your scheduled time. Appointment times are best-effort and may shift slightly during busy periods.

Pricing & payment

We do not take payment online. You pay in person at the station. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and cash.
The advertised $39.75 smog check applies to most cars model-year 2000 and newer. When a vehicle passes, an $8.25 state certificate fee applies. STAR-directed vehicles add $5. Trucks, SUVs, mini-vans, diesel, and out-of-state vehicles are priced at the time of write-up based on the vehicle and the inspection required.
Any coupon must be presented at the time of write-up and is not valid with other offers.
Prices, fees, and services may change at any time and certain fees are set by the State of California.

Test-only station

We are a test-only STAR-certified station: we perform smog inspections but do not perform repairs. If your vehicle does not pass, we can explain the results, but repairs must be done elsewhere.
A passing result and the issuance of a certificate depend on your vehicle meeting the applicable California emissions standards. We cannot guarantee that any vehicle will pass.
Inspection results are reported to the California DMV and Bureau of Automotive Repair as required by law.

DMV registration services

We offer DMV registration services (renewals, transfers, duplicate titles, permits, and more) as a registration desk. Fees for these services are set by the State of California and are quoted at the counter.
Processing depends on the documents you provide and on state systems being available. Some transactions may require additional time or paperwork.

Acceptable use of this site

Please don't misuse the site — no attempts to disrupt it, submit false or automated bookings, or access areas you're not authorized to use. We may cancel bookings that appear fraudulent or abusive.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Santee Smog Check is not liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from use of this website or a booking. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that cannot be limited under California law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the current version, and continued use of the site means you accept the changes.
